Aowyn turned 2 on December 1st.
I made Aowyn a kitchen for her birthday out of an entertainment center.
I have seen a ton of pins on Pinterest for how to turn an Entertainment center into play kitchen and decided that I wanted to do it.
I took a picture of the before but I can not seem to find it.
It was nasty, beat up, had no back and the doors had glass in them.
It took FOREVER and cost more then I thought (about $110 for everything), but in the end I loved how it turned out. ( I still need to add the knobs to the stove, I ordered them but they did not arrive in time and I can’t seem to manage to find the time to put them on.)
I used roofing metal for the doors on the fridge after I removed the glass and got the handles from Home Depot.
I hot glued the metal on and added screws to reinforce the metal.
I cut a piece of square wood out of some scraps of wood I had and spray painted it gray for the stove.
I bought 4 round unfinished wood pieces at Michael’s and painted them black for the stove tops.
I got the bar for hanging utensils from IKEA.
There was a big pull out shelf where the bar is now and I took the shelf out and cut a smaller piece of wood to go in that place so there was more head room for the kids.
I added some knobs in various places so that she could hang her oven mitts and apron up.
I got the sink handles at walmart and the bowl is a dog bowl…. it was the only one I could find that was the right shape.
I cut the whole for the sink our with an electric saw and drilled holes for the sink handles.
I ended up putting caulk around the bowl because my circle was not a very exact circle, so I wanted to cover up my imperfections.
I got the bar from IKEA and put Epoxy glue on the covers just to add an extra bit of strength (because I knew my kids would pull on it a lot and I did not want it to come off.)
I got mostly Melissa and Dough play food from here on Amazon.
I was so much fun to give it to Aowyn for her birthday.
She loved it too!
We gave her a couple more presents before church and then more after church.
She loved all her babies and clothes.
Two things that are her absolute favorites.
I also found her a cradle at an Antique store and repainted it and repaired some of it.
She loves books that make noises and loves Minnie Mouse, so she was in heaven with the Minnie Mouse piano book.
She gets so excited when she opens presents.
I love to watch her face.
She loves her jewelry.
I love this little girl so much. She is so silly and sweet. She loves babies and loves to take care of them, she is just the sweetest little mommy.
