I don’t have fireplace so I don’t have a fun mantel to decorate for the holidays so that fun decorating falls to my buffet in my dining room.
(Ya’ll didn’t actually think that because I have no mantel I don’t have somewhere fun to decorate for the holidays now did you? Of course this girl knows how to improvise.)
I got my buffet at Down East Home years ago. We were in the military for 9 years and moved ourselves every time we moved, so we always made a little bit of money of it. And by WE, I really mean I moved us… hubby loaded the truck. My husband is so fantastic that he always lets me spend the money on new furniture pieces. He says that because I do all the work that I should be able to spend the money the way I want…. he is pretty amazing. So he bought me this beautiful buffet and its had several hardware changes throughout the years but the biggest change is ALWAYS the decor. It’s just my happy place for decorating and since it sits in the dining room of our open concept floor plan you can see it from every room in the house… score!!! I change this piece out every holiday and decorate it with something new and fun!!
Right now it’s decorated for Easter and I LOVE it!!! Can I just say that white bunnies and soft neutral colors are my Fav? They are so much fun to decorate with and really make a big impact on the space. I am totally contemplating leaving a bunny or two out all year… weird or not? Who knows… who cares? I just may have to do it.
I added some fun eggs to my giant Mason Jar that I found at Home Goods (I seriously about died when I found it!! Heaven.)
All of my white bunnies came from Tai Pan. Such a glorious store… man I miss that place. Why can’t they open one in Vegas? Id be there all the time!!
This cute little bunny was on sale at Micheal’s and I made the fun little wreath out of two wreath forms from Michael’s and added some eggs… those eggs may or may not have acquired teeth marks over the years. Life with kids is never dull and they always seem to have the greatest time adding their own special touches to the decor. I pull out things every year and smile at their handiwork. I know that one day I will pull at the decor and shed few tears because those sweet little baby teeth marks will remind me of my sweet little grown babies who no longer live with me and I will miss it.
This chair is still one of my most favorite thrifty finds. It was once a high chair and is now just a big beautiful piece of decor. The basket came from Home Goods and was on sale for $7… man I love a good deal. I have a big bin of fake flowers that get used for everything, I have a slight addiction to changing out flowers for the holidays.
Gah!!! These bunnies!! I mean come on now. Could they BE any cuter?
(who picked up on my FRIENDS reference there? Yeah major dork points!!!)
Okay, had enough yet? But really!!! I mean really!!! Cutie McCutes over here!!
The little Chick spoke to me when I was at Michael’s and told me I had to bring him home with me!! I could not possibly refuse, now could I?
(Bunnies, bins of flowers and ceramic birds speaking to me…. four kids really did make me lose my mind.)
I added some burlap ribbon that I already had to the pot with flowers.
I participated in a totally fun Spring give away on Instagram and won this beautiful wreath. I never win anything y’all, so this was a big deal. I had no idea what It would look like but when it arrived in the mail I did a little happy jig (it got here on St. Patty’s day, so a jig was necessary.) It’s just so much fun and looks perfect hanging up on my mirror. The wonderful Courtney over at Hamby Home Decor made the wreath and sent it to me. You should go check out her blog, so is amazing, and she is an Alabama Football fan, so she is pretty much perfect.
You HAD to know I wasn’t finished with the bunnies yet! Am I bordering on insanity here? Maybe!
I’m about to get a bit religious on y’all for a minute.
I am so excited for Easter. I love Christmas with my whole soul but Easter is the time of year that makes everything I do every day so worth it. Christ was born, he lived and then he died for us, but more importantly he LIVED again and because of that, so can you and I. Because of his selfish life and selfish death we can all return to live with him in Heaven again someday. What a glorious gift and a beautiful time of year.
