Aowyn loves My Little Ponies so it was only fitting that for her 4th birthday we would have a My Little Pony themed party. We ended up moving 2 weeks before her actual birthday so we decided to have her party right after Halloween instead of right after Thanksgiving when her birthday is. Most of our house was already packed up in boxes so I had to get super creative and borrow lots of things from people to actually pull off a party. This is the second year in a row that we have been moving around her birthday, poor kid, thankfully we should be settled and not move again after this.
I ended up making a rainbow out of folded in half $1 table clothes from Walmart and my amazing friend hung them up for me. We used batting for quilts to make the clouds and LOTS and LOTS of thumb tacks. I found the cute MLP banner, table cloth, and hanging pieces at Walmart as well.
I thought it would be fun to do fruit and vegetables for the snacks since it was just a bunch of little girls and it was in the middle of the day. It fit well with MLP theme and it was easy to come up with fun sayings to go along with each Pony.
I decorated the table with all of Aowyns mini Ponies and made some cupcakes for the girls to have. We have a tradition where the kids help us decorate their at home/family cake and since we would be moving during her birthday Aowyn got to decorate her cupcakes. I ordered the rings and cupcake wrappers on Amazon.
Aowyns favorite Pony is Pinkie Pie and she asked for a purple cake. I found the Pinkie Pie candle on Amazon and bought the candy balls and hearts at Walmart. We just did a small cake since we also did the cupcakes.
We had some Apple Jack’s Apple Juice and Apple cider to drink. I found the straws at Hobby Lobby and bought a variety of colors.
I found these cute pictures of all the Ponies on Google and made the tags on PicMonkey using different Fonts that I have acquired over time from Dafont.com
I found the cutest bingo boards at Artsy Fartsy Mama and we used marshmallows like she suggested as our board pieces. The little girls absolutely loved this part of the party. It was a huge success.
I drew Pinkie Pie on a Poster board and colored her in (my marker totally was trying to die on me). We used pink streamers that I cut up into sections to play pin the tail on Pinkie Pie.
Aowyn broke her left collar bone at Preschool during their Halloween Party just a week before her birthday so she was in a brace for a few weeks and wasn’t feeling the greatest but she was such a trooper at the party and I think she really had a blast. We literally had sold our couches and table already because we were moving so quickly after the party. I had been suffering through severe morning sickness leading up to the party as well. I am so grateful for all people who helped me out with the party, let me borrow things, and supported our sweet girl for her birthday. I am also glad that Walmart had so many cute party things for a great price so that I could still afford to throw Aowyn a very cute party on our small budget.
