I say it all the time, but I really can not believe how fast my kids are growing. I can’t believe that my only girl is now 6.
She is seriously the sweetest thing and makes me so happy to be her mom. She is bursting with love and always has a hug ready to give to anyone who needs it.
This year for her birthday she wanted a “classic barbie” theme. She LOVES playing with her barbies so of course I wasn’t surprised that she chose a barbie theme.
We chose a pink, black and white color scheme since thats what the original classic barbies colors were. I found some fun pink plates and pink candies and went to town covering cookies in pink frosting.
I found some super cute labels online and printed them out and then punched them out with my circle punch, to decorate the different containers for the candies, forks and spoons.
This amazing lady here in my town makes the cutest cookies and I asked her to make some barbies ones. She had never done it before but they turned out amazing.
We found some fun wafers for the party and I added some labels to simple pink and white bags that I got from Hobby Lobby. I filled them with candy and had them ready for the girls to take home with them.
I took an ikea frame, spray painted it black, added some fabric to the backing and printed out a Barbie Silhouette to go in the Frame.
I am no cake making expert but I did have a lot of fun making this cake. I added some scrap book paper and some ribbon to complete the look with the fondant bows and polka dots, sticking with the “classic Barbie” theme.
I added a ribbon to the pink punch and some labels to the white cups I got at Walmart. I also printed out some cute glad labels for the straws that I purchased at Hobby Lobby.
I bought some white, black and pink fabric and attached them to a rope that I hung along the top of the ceiling. I just used safety pins to secure them in place. I thought about sewing them on but I wanted to be able to use them for something different later on.
I loved the way the set up turned out and that I have a fun formal dining room to do things like this in. Aowyns birthday is not all grouped up in the summer with her older brothers but it is right between Christmas and Thanksgiving so I try to do it early in November so that its not overshadowed or made stressful by the other holidays. So far its worked out great for us.
My amazing friend Marie over at Sweet Cotton Paperie made Aowyns adorable invitations. She is seriously the best. You can see some of the others invites she has made for me here, and here (these are just a few, she is AMAZING) . She send the imagine to you via email and you print them out. Super quick and super easy.
I think my Princess had a great party. We made bracelets and she played barbies with her friends. Plus who doesn’t love lots and lots of sugar?
Her sweet friends. With this many girls its hard to get them all looking at the camera at the same time. I am so excited to0 see her grow up with some of these girls. She is surrounded by some amazing friends and I couldn’t be more grateful.
