Not having a job and not having a computer set up for the better part of last year made it to where I did not get a chance to post a lot of the fun things we did over the summer of 2014.
During our trip to Missouri we were able to go to see the Butterfly Gardens near our Grandparents house. Coming from the desert to such a beautiful place was a bit overwhelming for my green loving soul. I was in awe of all the beautiful trees and just wanted to take a picture of everything. I miss green so much. It speaks to me and calls me by name. I joke that anywhere with green is my mother ship and it’s always calling me home.
I can’t believe this was only a year ago and that my kids have grown up so much since then. They seem so big to me now and so little then. I am constantly in awe at how fast they grow and how fast time flies by.
There was this fun little game where the kids had to find all sorts of animal statues throughout the Gardens. It was a lot of fun especially for Tayton, who made it his mission to find them all.
This little girl makes so many funny faces, she literally has the silliest personality. I just adore her!!!
The kids were amazed at all the geese they saw and wanted to hold them… of course the geese did not like that idea.
Grams and Pop Pop are just the greatest. We love them so much and miss them dearly all the time. I wish we lived closer.
On this trip we also noticed that Noah was starting to get some gray hairs. I just love it!!! Salt and pepper hair (on men, not women, I dye the heck out of mine) is very handsome.
We came upon a wet play area that we did not know about, so of course the kids had to run around in it and get wet. It was such a blast and I really enjoyed watching them, part of me wanted to jump in and get a break from the heat, but I hate walking around in wet clothes so I passed.
Aowyn decided to pass too… she did not want to get wet.
And of course we could not be at a Butterfly Graden without seeing some butterflies. Aowyn was in little girl heaven.
She was also super bummed when the butterfly flew away.
And then she decided she wanted to get wet… but only a little.
Tayton played out on the concrete to try to dry off.
I mean seriously….. so very, very beautiful. I miss that place. It was just gorgeous.
There was this awesome church there too where people get married. Man, I would love to go to a wedding there… so naturally beautiful.
The church was just stunning… and all that green! Oh my goodness! Swooning!! It was breath-taking to say the least.
The view out away from the church to one side was just so many vibrant colors. I literally was in heaven on earth.
There was also this fun little area where the kids got to do games that pioneer kids would do and we got to eat all natural, made at the park, off their own plants, popsicles. Those things were so very yummy!! It really was an amazing trip.
Being there made me fall in love with Missouri… add that to a place I could totally see myself living!!!
