Take a metal tin from Drab to Fab for less than $1

When I go to Target I ALWAYS check the Dollar Spot. Usually I can find some pretty amazing things in there that I can totally use my crafting thumb to make them into something Fabulous. I saw this metal flower tin and knew immediately that it had a layer of fabulous waiting to be discovered. The metal was nice, but to me it just looked cheap and did not fit in my space very well. Honestly it was … [Read more...]

Hutch Transformation Part 1

I have had a hutch in my family for years, 50 to be exact. My Granny bought it when my mom was 2 and then it was given to my mom for me when we moved to Alaska. My mom was instructed to give it to me when I got married. I remember having it in my room as a teenager and looked for a picture of it in my room but could not find one. My parents lived down the road from us for several years … [Read more...]

How to give metal a weathered look

We all know how much I love the Target Dollar Spot and how you can find some killer deals in there. I found these super cute succulents there after a friend posted on Instagram about the cute things she did with them. When I was there I found this metal bin for $3 to put them in but I was not sure whether or not I would like the look of the silver metal in my house. I … [Read more...]

15 Minute decor transformation : Start to hanging on the wall

I love a fast project. With four little kids running around all day, blog posts to write, laundry to do, dinner to cook, playing chauffeur to do, a million projects on my to do list and a hubby that would like some of my time, the faster the project the better. I put off a lot of projects because I don't have enough time to dedicate to finish the project. I have a lot of half done … [Read more...]

    Words to live by

“Give your child a compliment and a hug; say, ‘I love you’ more; always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. Friends move away, children grow up, loved ones pass on. It’s so easy to take others for granted, until that day when they’re gone from our lives and we are left with feelings of ‘what if’ and ‘if only.’ … “Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey and share our love with friends and family. One day, each of us will run out of tomorrows. Let us not put off what is most important.” - President Thomas S. Monson
