What reality do you portray?

What reality do you portray?

Yesterday I had a headache. Which really is nothing new for me, I get them a lot. But yesterdays headache came after several weeks of pretty crummy health problems that left me bedridden for a significant amount of days. Normally I would just lay on the couch all day watching movies with whatever kids were home, do some cereal for dinner (which my kids think is like the coolest thing ever, go … [Read more...]

My brother in laws accident

My brother in laws accident

Our family has recently gone through a major life changing event. A week and a half before Christmas, on Sunday December 15th around 5:45 am, we were awoken by a call from my mother in law. We know if she is calling this early that it can't be good news. We were informed that my 18 year old brother in law was in a car wreck in the early hours of the morning. He suffered from a traumatic brain … [Read more...]

Lesson learned?

Lesson learned?

I tell my boys to not run around outside naked, I think at almost 4 and 6 that they should probably have some clothes on, (am I terrible, tyrant of a mom for that?).  But low and behold they still do it, I mean its 100 million degrees outside here in hot Vegas, so who can blame them? I went outside today and my beautiful nail polish that I painstakingly applied (okay maybe I just applied … [Read more...]

Surgery

Tayton had surgery today. He has had reflux since he was born. He didnt gain any weight as a baby and spit up EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME!! They thought it might go away by the time he was a year, chalking it up to reflux after they did countless CAT scans and MRIs and xrays and could find nothing. They didnt want to do an endoscopy or colonoscopy till he was two. When he was 18 months and nothing had … [Read more...]

Its just one of those crying days

Its just one of those crying days

So today has been one of those “oh poor pitiful me” kind of days.I took Aowyn to the doctor for her 4 month check up. Before I left Noah and I were joking about how much weight we thought she had gained and I said “2 pounds, Im really hoping for 2 pounds.” Her last appointment she barely gained any weight and the doctor said if she continued on that path then we would have to do some intervention. … [Read more...]

    Words to live by

“Give your child a compliment and a hug; say, ‘I love you’ more; always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. Friends move away, children grow up, loved ones pass on. It’s so easy to take others for granted, until that day when they’re gone from our lives and we are left with feelings of ‘what if’ and ‘if only.’ … “Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey and share our love with friends and family. One day, each of us will run out of tomorrows. Let us not put off what is most important.” - President Thomas S. Monson
