This past July our oldest, Landon, turned 8.
8 is a big age in our church, its the age of accountability when children are called upon to make a big choice in their life and make covenants with the Lord.
Its great to be eight in our church. So many big things happen when you turn eight, you get to be baptized, receive the Holy Ghost and start the scouting program.
We belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (you can go here to find out more about our church).
On August 10th, 2014 Landon was baptized and confirmed a Member of our church.
This was such a big day for him, and for us.
It was so beautiful to see my sweet little boy make a very grown up decision.
I had tears streaming down my cheeks as I watched him take a huge step in his life.
I can’t believe my baby is growing up so fast.
Where did the time go?
My mom always tells me not to blink, because they will grow up before I know it, and its so true.
He was just a tiny little baby, wasn’t he? I literally feel like I just had him a few days ago and now here he is a little man making life changing choices.

My sweet sister in law Melanie at Melanie Bailey Photography was gracious enough to take Landons pictures.
She had never done baptism pictures before, so she was wonderfully patient with me and my wants. Im pretty sure I sent her at least 20 pins on pinterest just for this photo session.
I think she did a fantastic job capturing all the things I wanted.

I took Landon to pick out his first suit before his pictures and he had a lot of fun shopping for it.
It was just me and him and he decided on a 3 piece suit.

We also decided to give our kids their very own set of scriptures with their names on it, when they turn 8.
We gave his scriptures to him when we was getting his picture taken. He was over the moon excited about getting them.

I can’t believe that my tiny little baby has become such a wonderful little man.
He loves to build legos and play sports.
He helps set the table and unload the dishwasher and is getting to the age where we can reason with him and have good, productive conversations.
He is so smart and makes me smile all the time.
He has a huge heart and is a people pleaser.
I am so proud of the young man he is turning into.

I can’t believe that I am going to have a picture of him like this leaving for a mission in just 9.5 years.
Dont blink, Aurie, dont blink.

I made his invites on Shutterfly and used a line from one of his Favorite Primary songs on the back of the invite.

Because we were in Alabama (in transit), Landon did not have a bunch of friends at his baptism.
It was a small family affair with a few of my friends from our local ward.

I watched my brother baptise my husband almost 10 years ago and it was so wonderful to see my husband baptize our son, I feel like we came full circle.
It was such a blessing to get to see and such a testimony building experience.
I really love these two.

Family pictures with the baptism boy.
(Braddoc refuses to be in most family pictures, one of the “perks” of Autism, its overwhelming to him. So instead of fighting with him we just let him skip out on some of the pictures.)

I am so grateful for the opportunity to watch my beautiful baby grow up.
He makes each day such a joy and I absolutely adore him.
He is so much like me in so many ways and I feel blessed that he calls me mom.
He has a big job, being the oldest kid in a family, and I think he does a fantastic job at it.
He set a wonderful example for his younger siblings and paved the way for them.
I remember thinking a few weeks after he was born, when we went to a friends baptism, that this day was so far away, and now here we are.
Time flies when you are having fun.
Happy Baptism day Landi Pandi.
