Two posts ago (here) I showed you all my knobs on my different pieces of furniture around me house.
Today I am going to show you some fun and funky knobs and hardware for redoing furniture .
I think that changing out your hardware on different pieces around your house is a great way to make a quick and inexpensive change that will make a HUGE impact.
A few dollars and a matter of minutes is usually all it takes to make a big change.
Hobby lobby has their knobs half off all the time and so when I need new knobs I usually head there to get them.
I love the variety they have.
Before you go make sure you inspect your piece and know what kind of knobs you will need.
Figure out:
1. How deep is the the hole you are inserting the knob into? Do you need a knob with a long screw or a short screw?
2. How many holes does the spot you are putting new hardware have? Are you going to have to drill more holes? Are you willing to drill more holes?
3. How thick is the hole you are placing your knob? If the hole is bigger than your screw you need to make sure that you have washers to place in the front and back to hold the screw in place.
4. Is it okay if you have hang over on your screw or does it need to be flush with the back of the space you are placing your knob?
Once you have decided what type of screw you need make sure you measure the depth of the spot where the hardware will be going. I once bought the perfect hardware only to realize when I got home that the screw part was not long enough to make it all the way through the drawer.
Don’t make my same mistake, make sure you measure.
Without further ado… all the glorious knobs.
I love the glass look, I’m excited to put these in my master.
These were in Aowyn’s room once upon a time, but now they are waiting for a new home.
I love the his and hers knobs.
I bought them for our night stands, but the back screws were not long enough to fit through the wood on the drawer.
(my mistake in not measuring)
These white flowers are so classy and simple.
I did have them in my night stand drawers but I decided that I wanted to use them somewhere else.
These blue beauties will be used downstairs in our play area.
I am so excited to use these in my new hutch that I am redoing.
These fantastic cuties will also be used in my new hutch… man I am so anxious to get that done.
I have nowhere to use this knob but I love the vintage feel with the super cute pop of color.
This one is hard to see in the wrapper but its beautiful.
I ended up buying a few for the hutch I am working on.
I did snag a little measuring stick from the sewing department to measure the hardware.
I usually keep one in my bag but with my daughter taking a new facination with my purse I seem to be missing several items regularly.
I really love this white knob, its just clean and classy.
The gold on these knobs just makes me swoon.
I am trying to decide if I want to use them on my night stands that are in need of knobs.
I have no idea where I would put this but I am totally in love with the gold polka dots.
I might end up redoing some stuff in the family room just to add this in.
I used these on the gentleman’s cabinet in my room (go here) to see that.
The gold arrows are such a big thing to decorate with right now and I have totally jumped on the “love of arrows” band wagon.
I am thinking about using these in the family room too…. man I have lots to do in there (go here to see my plans for that space and go here to see what I have already done with that space.)
I bought all of these beauties that they had left.
I am using them on my new hutch that will go in the dining room.
I can’t wait to finish that piece.
I have a whole closet full of decor to go in and I have the paint and chalk powder ready to be used. I have bought all of the hardware too, now I just need to do the work…. stay tuned for the finished piece.
It shall be glorious!!!! (think Lion King when Mufasa holds up Simba for the pride land to see.)
These from Amazon are glorious! I am loving the gold on them….. Must.find.a.place.for.them.
There are so many more amazing knobs out here for the finding…. let the adventure begin.
(and don’t forget to measure.)
