Welcome to our home, glad you could stop by.
Ya’ll know by now that I LOVE decorating for the holidays and Valentines day is no different.
What girl doesn’t love an excuse to decorate with reds and pinks and not have her husband complain?
As much as I love those colors I don’t choose to have a lot of them all over my house, so Valentines day is the perfect time to change it up for a month and add the fun girlie colors to my decor.
I still have so many projects I want to do for Valentines day, but for now I love what I have.
Enjoy our Valentines Day Home Tour
I made the BE MY VALENTINE banner out of scrapbook paper, ribbon and letter printouts. It was super quick and easy and I love having such a fun Valentines setting while I work on the computer.
The Love print is a frame from the dollar store and LOVE foam letters from the Dollar Store as well. I just typed up the rest really quick in a word document and printed it out. I glued the LOVE to the frame and was good to go.
I found the white frame at a thrift store and put scrapbook paper inside the frame. I drew a heart in glue onto the glass and then dumped the glitter on top.
The trees are made out of hearts using a heart cut out I bought at Michael’s. I used some scrapbook paper to make a cone and then I glued the hearts around the cone.
I free hand painted the banner a few years ago. I just cut out the burlap and glued it to the twine.
I made most of the pillow covers this year. You can find my post about how to make quick and easy pillow cases here.
I love the pop of color they add to the room.
When you walk up the stairs you walk right into our living room and can see right back into the dining room. The upstairs is just a big open room so you can see the decor from anywhere in the upstairs. I LOVE it!
The living room looks into the sitting room/library.
I love to fill up our vintage egg basket with flowers for each holiday.
My allergies are pretty severe so fake flowers are my best friend.
I love trees and I have one up for several different holidays.
I love all the pinks and reds in the Valentines tree. Stay tuned for another post about the tree.
My very first valentines decor I made was about 6 years and it was my LOVE frames.
I bought the frames at the DI (a goodwill type thrift store) and spray painted them cream.
I bought the thin wood letters on sale at Michael’s and painted them different shades of pink and red. I glued the scrapbook paper to the backs of the frames and then glued the letters right one the paper.
More of my fake flower goodness.
(Do the words “Flower Addict” cross your mind?)
When you stand in our kitchen you can see the whole upstairs space.
I love that I can see my decor from every room upstairs.
Books make my heart so happy. And its fun to decorate the shelves for the holidays too.
Our gallery wall is one of my favorite walls in the house.
But that’s a whole other post.
I love making new decor for the holidays and I had a lot of fun making the blocks and XOXO letters.
Our home is a split level so when you walk in the front door you have the option of going up or down.
I love having this little wall space to put up a chalk board that I can change out for the Holidays and of course I have to have an Alabama sign so everyone knows when they walk in our front door where our alliances are.
I made the stackable blocks this year and love the soft touch of pink it gives to the space.
I made the 14 this year too and I think adds the perfect amount of color to this space.
The little heart block was a fun upcycle project (Those are my favorite kind… totally free). You can find the Valentines day printable in the frame here.
(sorry for the terrible lighting, I was running out of daylight.)
I love being able to decorate above the bookshelves and being able to change out my frames for cute printables. You can find the LOVE (red and black one) here.
I hope you enjoyed our home tour.
I can’t wait to show you more of our fun valentines day projects around the house.
Please feel free to pin pictures to pinterest and to share with others.
Don’t forget to Share the joy!
Happy Valentines day.
Linking up at Motivational Monday over at The DIY Mommy
when your all done make you a valentine gingerbread house using red pink white candies. I have a recipie but can use one online. Decorate each piece before you put it together. Love your tour. You’re so clever. I was like you when younger. I’ll be 80 next April.
Thats a great idea bonnie! I would love to do that. I need to come visit you now that we are back in Vegas. Your my favorite almost 80 year old. 😉
Okay, your house is the cutest. I love your blog! Keep up the cute decor so I can keep up the blog stalking! I would love to see tutorials on how you paint your furniture! 😉
Lol I love that you are blog stalking, thats my favorite kind of stalking (not like there are other good kinds). I am currently working on doing a hutch with chalk paint and working on a tutorial for that. So keep up stalking and I should have one up by the end of the month.
I’ve never seen anyone decorate so much for Valentine’s Day. That’s amazing. Visiting from Motivational Monday.
I love holidays, any excuse to add more holiday decor to my house is a good excuse to me. 😉
Your home is so cute! And I’m l-o-v-e with that xoxo pillow case! Beautiful tour
